Thoughts and writing on the world of golf and golf course architecture.

Photo for a cold night: I bet you can't guess where this one was taken. Here is my good friend and regular golfing buddy Steve at the end of a round in St. Andrews. The weather unleashed a blast on us at one point, but this was still one of the most memorable rounds of my life.
Rob, I have a very similar pic hanging in my living room and wistfully glance at it every time I pass. I felt buzzed the entire round, played well and happened to meet up with a member of one of the golf clubs who treated us to dinner. In the clubhouse was the original locker of Allen Robertson.
Another favourite pic is hitting off the beach to the 1st green at North Berwick. I hit a really bad left-handed hook off the tee but managed to find the green from the beach and get my round started out right.
Robert Thompson writes a golf column for the National Post, Canada's daily national newspaper, and is a contributing editor to Travel and Leisure Golf. He has also written for Golf Magazine, PGATour.com, Ontario Golf, Score Golf and is a course rater for Golf Digest.
Going for the Green will comment on golf issues from course architecture to the PGA Tour, as well as providing regular course reviews.
